Transitioning Baby To Solids With Gerber 3rd Foods® Lil’ Bits®

We are just beginning to start on solid foods at our house. I’ve spent a lot of time researching the best ways to go about doing so, and also the guidelines that I should follow to best introduce my little one to these new foods. My biggest thing was how do I know when she’s ready? After digging around on the internet to find out, apparently the big signs are that baby is able to sit up well without your support, and that they’ve grown out of the ‘tongue-thrust reflex’ that pushes food out of their mouth.

If those things seem to be a go, you can also find out by testing the waters and see if they are up for eating and chewing. In our house, it took a little time to get past her always wanting to just push the food out of her mouth. She wasn’t ready, and that is okay! I followed her cues and we just kept periodically trying until she was ready!

One product that I came across is Gerber 3rd Foods® Lil’ Bits®. They were created to help babies learn to chew and mash food! Lil’ Bits® recipes include delicious fruits and veggies, and are made with the help of developmental experts who have put in over 120,000 hours of product development to create these great foods for our little ones.

Not only do the Lil’ Bits® recipes help introduce your baby to new textures and tastes, but they also prepares them for table foods (it will come sooner than you think!) The chew-able, mashable pieces are perfect for them to learn the basics of eating. Chewing is an essential milestone for your child so you want to get it right! In fact, I learned that kids who have not been introduced to ‘lumpy food’ that require them to mash and chew before 10 months of age, have been found to have a hard time transitioning to more advanced solids.
