Boppy Bloom™ Skincare is My New BFF!
Last weekend, I attended an annual Friendsgiving party at a friend’s house. It is a large group with a mixture of friends I see quite frequently and other ones that I had some major catching up to do with. One of my good friends is 18 weeks pregnant and we quickly found out that not only did she belong to the same OB clinic as me, but her doctor is the same one who delivered my oldest. Such a small world! While both of us wanted to gush about babies, babies, babies all night (who wouldn’t?!), we also wanted to share our time with everyone else, so when we were saying our goodbyes she asked me if I could send her a list of my favorite must-have baby products so they could have something to get them started with the overwhelming (but incredibly exciting!) task of registering.
My very first item – and it was no accident that it was the first one on the list – was a Boppy® Pillow. The Boppy® Pillow was so helpful in getting a little baby at the right height for nursing in those early days and finding a position that was comfortable for both the baby and me. So, you can understand my excitement when I was asked to review a new skincare line created by the makers of my beloved, award-winning Boppy ® Pillow .
The new skin care line is called the Boppy Bloom™ Skincare Collection and consists of a stretch mark cream, a belly butter, a body oil and a breast balm. The first thing I took out of the box was the Boppy Bloom™ Soothing Breast Balm. I am very conscious of what ingredients are in the products I use (especially while pregnant or nursing), so I immediately gave the jar a spin around to check them out and what I saw were: ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, cera alba (beeswax), euphorbia cerifera (candelilla) wax, avena sativa (oat) kernel oil, copernicia cerifera (carnauba) wax. Can’t complain about that! All ingredients that make it safe to use before and after nursing. It definitely has everything you love and nothing you don’t. The remaining products all followed suit and were hypoallergenic, paraben free and phthalate free.
The Boppy Bloom™ Whipped Belly Butter has a light, whipped texture. I love, love, LOVE this product! It was by far my favorite product in the collection. In fact, a few nights I even put it on my feet before bed and loved how hydrated they felt when I woke up!
The Boppy Bloom™ Renewing Body Oil is applied next. Like the Boppy Bloom™ Whipped Belly Butter, the oil also has a great smell.
The Boppy Bloom™ Stretch Mark Cream is then applied over the Boppy Bloom™ Renewing Body Oil. The cream does a good job of “sealing ” the oil and left me with very hydrated skin without the oily feel. You can see this when you look at the picture above that was taken after applying the oil and comparing it to the picture below which was taken after applying the The Boppy Bloom™ Stretch Mark Cream. I found this to be an important step because with other brands of stretch mark products, I find that they can leave an oily residue that makes my shirt stick to my stomach and I definitely don’t want that! I did not have this issue at all while using the Boppy Bloom™ Skincare Collection.
It always seems like when it comes to skin care, I have to choose between a product that smells great but doesn’t actually care for my skin, or a product that is great for my skin but has a not-so-great-smell. So when I find one that does both, I hold on to it!! This is one of the things I loved about the Boppy Bloom™ Skincare Collection. The cream, belly butter and oil all have a great white citrus shea scent. The breast balm, of course, it fragrance free just as I want it to be.
